  • Gifts

Toiletries, bedding, clothes and shoes are gratefully received and regularly used by our clients. We also use dried and tinned food - especially tins with ring pulls (tin openers are always needed too!). Please drop them into any of our supported accommodation houses or our resettlement centres in Truro or Penzance.

Depending on the availability of our storage space we also take household items and furniture and fittings (that comply with current safety standards) to use in our supported accommodation and to pass to clients as they move into their own accommodation.

  • Online Purchases

Every time you buy something online you could also be raising money for us. Register at www.easyfundraising.org.uk and select St Petroc's Society as your cause. Then, when you go shopping, instead of going to the retailer's website, go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk first. Link to the retailer from there and go shopping as normal. The price of your purchase is exactly the same as if you'd visited the retailer directly.

Over 2,700 well known retailers including Amazon, John Lewis, eBay and Tesco will donate a percentage of what you spend to say thank you for shopping with them.

  • Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving allows employees to donate through their employer's payroll scheme and results in a tax efficient donation. Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so each £1 you give will only cost you 80p, and if you're a higher rate taxpayer it will only cost you 60p.

For more information on Payroll Giving agencies see the HM Revenue & Customs web page HM Revenue & Customs: Payroll Giving - approved Payroll Giving agencies.

  • Collection Boxes

If you would like a collection box for your shop, restaurant, church or other organisation please contact our Admin & Finance Office (Lander House, 5 Upper Lemon Villas, Truro, TR1 2PD) who will be pleased to supply you with one.

  • Bequests

Leaving a bequest in your will can result in tax advantages for your estate as well as providing valuable funds for our organisation. Please ensure you take appropriate legal advice when considering leaving a bequest.

Meet Dave

I was back on the streets in Bodmin having got into a dry house. Having arrived at the house, drunk on several occasions, had no choice but to ask me to leave really, so that was it.

The first night back in Camborne I slept in the shop doorway there. I was really cold. That one night was a sobering thought. I've been back in the house ever since. I brought a lot of things away in my head that are helping to make me realise what I need to do to keep healthy but I will still drink. I'm not at the stage I was before where as soon as I got money in my pocket I had to go and blow it all on drink.

I'm in a really good place. Can't remember feeling in such a good place for a long time. I've lived a full and enjoyable life. I have achieved more things than most blokes have even dreamed of. I'm not saying that's a good thing. I don't see it as a bad thing. But I am what I am.
