St Petroc's provides accommodation with support for every individual that moves into one of our schemes. Each person is different and brings with them a different set of circumstances, experiences and issues as well as skills and abilities.
It is important to recognise individuality and ensure that each person's individual support needs are met. These include health and well-being, managing benefits, budgeting, life skills, training, employment opportunities, hobbies and interests and appropriate long term housing solutions.
Our aim is to ensure that each person is given every opportunity to succeedin whatever goals and aspirations they have.
All residents are provided with their own bedroom and share a kitchen, bathroom and living room facilities. They are responsible for cooking meals and keeping the house clean and tidy. They are encouraged to take it in turns to cook for the other residents and when possible, to eat together. This promotes a sense of community and support within the house. They also have use of laundry facilities so they are able to do their own washing. For many, this may be the first time they have had to cook and clean for themselves and so is a great place to learn life skills that will promote future independence.
Many residents move on to their own accommodation or to our Private Sector Lease scheme. Those that still require it will receive on-going "floating support" to ensure that they maintain their tenancy, manage utility bills, look for employment or training and any other opportunities or support services in their local community that may be of benefit to them.
