Poem of the Week: Victoria Field

Poet Victoria Field reads her poem ‘Asleep’, from her collection Many Waters, as part of our Poem of the Week, a feature throughout the winter of 2018–19, raising awareness of our campaign to end street homelessness in Cornwall.

Victoria Field is a writer and poetry therapist who has lived and worked in Turkey, Russia, Pakistan and most recently, Cornwall.

Her collection of poetry Many Waters was based on a year-long residency at Truro Cathedral. She has also written a children’s book and has had two plays produced by Hall for Cornwall where she was an Associate Artist from 2006-2010. She is a regular tutor on the Writing in Health and Social Care programme at Ty Newydd, the National Writers’ Centre for Wales, for the Professional Writing Academy, Canterbury Christ Church University and the Metanoia Institute. She is a qualified poetry therapist and is a mentor-supervisor for the International Federation for Biblio-Poetry Therapy.

Over the winter of 2018–19 we will be sharing a different poem each week which will be read by notable figures, exploring the themes that resonate with our campaign.
