Providing somewhere to call “home” is an essential first step for those who are homeless.
St Petrocs provide supported accommodation across 13 properties that we manage in Cornwall and work in partnership with other housing providers and private landlords to provide move on accommodation. Last year we housed 581 individuals.
We also provide early intervention and hospital discharge services that help individuals from becoming homeless in the first place.
Supported & Move-on Accommodation
We provide accommodation to 85 residents who live in 13 properties that we manage across Cornwall.
The properties provide shared accommodation and offer differing levels of support. We also work in partnership with other housing providers and private landlords. Last year we housed 581 individuals.
Early Intervention Services
We provide an early intervention service called Nos Da Kernow, Cornish for “Good Night Cornwall”.
This is delivered in partnership with Cornwall Housing Ltd and Coastline Housing Ltd. This focuses on trying to stop individuals becoming homeless in the first place. Support involves helping people to sustain tenancies or finding solutions to rent arrears issues.
We also deliver No First Night Out and No Second Night Out schemes which provide emergency accommodation for individuals who have just become homeless.
Hospital Discharge Scheme
We operate a Hospital Discharge Scheme which is delivered in partnership with Cornwall Council, the NHS, Shelter and Coastline Housing Ltd.
This scheme ensures that no patient is discharged from hospital out onto the streets or back into accommodation without having their underlying health and housing issues addressed.
Through this scheme we are able to provide short term accommodation for those discharged from hospital with nowhere to go. We then work with our many partners and a range of agencies to help individuals access appropriate, longer term accommodation and support packages.
